Re: Symantec Framework

Hi Karl,

We fixed an issue with the Symantec Service Framework error via a patch released in February. Could you check the version of ccEmlPxy.dll on your machine? Is it 107.0.3.x or higher?

Re: Symantec Framework

Hi Sunny

I have the same problem too. The file ccEmlPxy.dll is 107.0.5.5. That should be ok. Do you know the solution of that problem? Do I need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Redistributable Package as a solution? Or do I need to uninstall the Add on pack?

Thank you, Medico

Re: Symantec Framework

The version is 107.0.5.5.  I have removed the add on pack and have not yet noticed a crash, but it hasn;t been too long.  I'll wait a week and post back.

Re: Symantec Framework

Hello Kuschner,

Just to confirm - Outlook is functioning normally now and add-on pack has not been reinstalled. I was reading the other thread and wasn't absolutely sure if that was still the case.

If the problem comes back, you should received instructions from Tony on where to upload your logs to.

Thanks,

Re: Symantec Framework

Hi Matt et al.,

Yes, I uninstalled the Norton Add on pack, and after about 10 days, have not had a reoccurrance of the Symantec Framework error message, nor of the email blockage.

So from my perspective, what I have seen is this:

Error occurred under Norton 360 and again under NIS2008, both with Add On Pack; all updates applied

Error causes loss of email connectivity and system tray icon to disappear

Restart of computer or bringing up main window of NIS causes error to reset

Error is often (perhaps always) accompanied by "Symantec Framework has stopped working" dialog from Vista

Error does not seem to be associated with email download, or even Outlook running, but I am not certain of this fact.

Error has not reoccurred after two weeks after Add on Pack uninstalled.

I think that sums up everything.  I kind of hate to not use Add on Pack, it was one of the reasons I stayed with NIS.  Let me know if you have any ideas, or how to gather and upload "logs" if that would be helpful

Thanks

Karl

Re: Symantec Framework

Since my problems seemed identical to yours, I uninstalled the Add-On pack as well. Now trouble free for 2 weeks now. I think this is the correct solution.

I am using a HP 9500T laptop, Vista, SP1, T7250 Intel processor.
