After some not so helpfull off shore network help, the Norton tool bar went missing. Under tools, manage add-ons, right hand window, the Symantic group shows three items; norton ID protection - Norton tool bar - Norton vulnebribility protection. These are all enabled. Under curentally loaded add-ons Symantic NCO BHO is not visible/available.
I just upgraded my protection to Norton 2012, verified that all updates were installed (many times), restarted my computer and still no Norton tool bar or NCO BHO installed.
What should I do now to reaquire the Norton tool bar???

Hi danoliphant:
Welcome to the Norton community.
Am I correct in assuming that you're using Internet Explorer 9 as your default browser? If all three Symantec add-ons are enabled, have you tried activating the Norton Toolbar from View | Toolbars | Norton Toolbar? There should be a check mark next to the Norton Toolbar menu item if it's activated.
Please note that I still use NIS 2011. Perhaps an NIS 2012 user could confirm that the Symantec NCO BHO that comes with NIS 2011 (located on my system at C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Engine\18.6.0.29\coieplg.dll) is still required for IE 9 with NIS 2012.

I knew I would forget to mention something, yes, IE9 is my browser and Norton tool bar does not show under view- toolbars.

I checked for the coieplg.dll in the norton program files and it not there if that helps.

Hi danoliphant:
I'm not absolutely certain that NIS 2012 still comes with the coieplg.dll plugin for IE, but it sounds like your NIS 2012 installation might be corrupted.
If you've re-booted your PC and run LiveUpdate until no further updates are available (with a re-boot between each LiveUpdate) and you still can't see your toolbar, I would recommend a clean reinstall of NIS 2012 using the Norton Removal Tool unless someone else can come up with a simpler solution. Step-by-step instructions for a clean re-install are posted here.

Hi mikedov:
Thanks for the correction, I misread the original post. Danophilant only mentioned Norton 2012, not Norton Internet Security 2012. We need to know the name of the Norton product before we can provide instructions for a clean re-install.
