More info, my norton product is Internet security 2012, was 2011 when the error first occured, operating system is microsoft Vista 64 bit, browser is IE9.

Thanks for the confirmation.  As long as you're using Norton Internet Security, the link here I previously provided in message # 5 will work for a clean re-install of either NIS 2011 or NIS 2012, depending on which version you prefer to use.
