How do I get rid of TDSS Rootkit ?
07-15-2010 11:36 PM
Hello jrszabo
Sorry to hear that you think you have a rootkit. How do you know you have a TDSS Rootkit? One possible way of getting rid of it is to sign up with one of the removal sites like Bleeping Computer. If you do have a rootkit, it would be a good idea to back up your music, pictures, documents to an outside source like an external hard drive.
When Bleeping Computer Aid is Needed Please put TDSS Rootkit in the subject of the thread.

Please follow their directions
This is but 1 possible path to take.
Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

Hello jzszabo
Please follow delphinium's instructions on how to register at BleepingComputer from this thread. It is the last post on this thread. You would have a different problem though and would need to put TDSS Rootkit in the subject.

Your Bleeping account is waiting to be validated, ummmm usually an email is sent to your email address with a link in it to click to make sure that the person with the email address has created the account and not someone else.

Hi John,
Glad to see you here -- do follow the advice to use BleepingComputer. The people here know a lot about this kind of problem so their advice is good.
I don't see in this thread the standing advice that when BleepingCOmputer agree to work on your problem you must accept not to work with another website -- avoids confusion and possible damage -- but pleae come back and tell us how it went.
Hugh
