TRANSFERRING NORTONS ANTIVIRUS TO NEW PC

Good evening to all from Perth Australia.

I have just gone round and round with Nathan the automated help desk.

I have a current subscription of Antivirus, and have just updated to a new laptop, so old one is being retired.

How can I transfer Antivirus to my new laptop??

My Nortons account shows I have no installs available.

Thanks

Claude

Re: TRANSFERRING NORTONS ANTIVIRUS TO NEW PC

claude - Welcome to the Community and I hope we can get your problem solved.  Here is a link to the US/Canada Norton online on-line chat (you may have to scroll down the screen a little, to find the CHAT button) that I've heard can quickly solve problems like your's.  If this Chat room can't help you, they may be able to provide the address for the chat room for Australia.  I've read several post like your's, and usually the Chat room will just cancel the license for your old PC and you would then be able to put it on your new PC.  I hope it's just as easy to solve your problem.  Come back and let us know if they helped you.

Windows 7 Home SP1 - IE 9.0.8112.16421 - NIS 2012 19.9.1.14 - Ghost Ver 15.0.1.36526 - Dell Optiplex GX280 PC.

1) Make sure you have your product key. Log in to www.mynortonaccount.com to get it with the email address you used when you registered the product.

2) Download the current version of the product at www.norton.com/download.

3) Activate the product with your product key. It will last for 15 days without activation, but activate it all the same, because it will still count down to your expiration date even if you won't use it.

Best of luck!
Neil

Re: TRANSFERRING NORTONS ANTIVIRUS TO NEW PC

Oooops sorry, the fact that you encountered the exceeded installations error did not register in my head. For this one, you need to contact Norton support. Go to at http://us.norton.com/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs, scroll down to either phone or chat and create a ticket. They can easily clear it up in their servers(no direct access for us users because it's prone to abuse). I hope though you have installed it only on ONE computer because that's the license agreement for the regular Norton Antivirus for 1PC..

Best of luck!
Neil

claude --

Use the CHAT option since all user feedback is that it is quick and painless.

The link given is to the US page but when you click on the CHAT button -- scroll down if you don't see it or you will end up back here -- and fill in your information I suspect you get sent to the area desk for your location so please try that link as a starting off point.

I just went to the Australian website and to support:and spent 5 minutes navigating to find at the end of the line if I forced it through to admitting that it could not help and to CONTACT US it took me to ......

http://us.norton.com/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs&selected_nav=8&id=ctcs1&entsrc

So save your time and nerves and use the US CHAT site for the jumping off point .......

Just tell them what you about discontinuing using the first PC and that you have uninstalled it .....
