Toolbar missing

Today I got from Mozilla Firefox this "Checking your Add-ons" thingy to my screen.

It asked what things I wanted to keep. I accidently removed Norton toolbar.

I tried to find way to have it back but I didn't find anything.

What I should do?

Hello Nananas and welcome to the Community.  You didn't give very much information, like what Norton Product and version number you are running and what version of Firefox you are using, so I hope this information applies.  I am using NIS2011 and Firefox 7.0.1.  In Foxfire, have you tried clicking on View - Toolbars and make sure the Norton Toolbar has a check beside it?

Windows 7 Home SP1 - IE 9.0.8112.16421 - NIS 2012 19.9.1.14 - Ghost Ver 15.0.1.36526 - Dell Optiplex GX280 PC.

Sorry I totally forgot to put those:

Firefox 8.0

Norton 360 version 5.0

And that Norton Toolbar is not even an option at the list. I have checked that :)

Re: Toolbar missing

Hi Nananas,

Go to the Firefox Add-ons page (Firefox > Add-ons, or Tools >Add-ons).  You should be able to enable the toolbar there.

Re: Toolbar missing

Hey Guru, I'm new to the forum but having the same issue...Firefox 8.0, Norton 360 Premier version 5....seems that the Norton toolbar is incompatible with Firefox? (as noted in the add-ons section for Firefox)

Am i missing or doing something wrong?

Any help or suggestions appreciated:smileyhappy:

Hi DocUSA,  Welcome to Norton Community.

I would say this question has been answered, but in your case I would recommend running Live Update,  re-booting as required untill no more updates are available,  then check as above.

Cheers,  Dave.

Hi DocUSA:

Please see forum administrator Dave Coleman's post here in the N360 forum titled Firefox 8 Support for Norton Toolbar for additional information.  The Norton Toolbar v. 2011.7.3.6 and Symantec IPS v. 3.2 extensions should appear in your Firefox Add-ons Manager (Tools | Add-ons) like the screenshot below.

Firefox 8 NIS 2011 Extensions.jpg

If you have older versions, a few manual LiveUpdates and re-boots as Krusty13 suggested might deliver the latest FF8-compatible extensions.  If you have the correct versions but the extensions are simply disabled, the solution suggested by SendOfJive in message # 4 might work.
