Transferring a license

I have just purchased a new pc to replace an antique.  I currently use all 3 of my licensed installs.  can I remove Norton from the old machine and install on to new machine without having to buy another product key?

Re: Transferring a license

Hello nhol and welcome to the Community.  I think the easiest way to answer your question, would be to ask you to go to the On-Line Chat Support and let them know what you would like to do.  They should be able to reassign one of your licenses, to put on your new PC.  I've been told the process is really painless and doesn't take very long.  Please come back and let us know if they were able to help.

Hi nhol,

Yes you can do that and if you still need any futher help you can contact our chat support to fix your issue.

As You are uninstalling in one Computer and not using it any more you can use it in you 3rd PC without the new license.

For Futher Support you can contact the below link :

Re: Transferring a license

Hi nhol,

Just a bit more info for you.  There is a program called Norton Management, which if you had it installed and all your system listed it would also provide a means for you to remove the license from the old system and have the license available for your new system - without having to contact Chat/Support.

You can read about it and also see a few slideshows to explain it here:

Any questions - you know where to find us!

And one more bit ....

New branded PCs usually come with a preinstalled trial of a security program .... often but not always Norton.

It is essential to remove and use a special tool one can get from the maker of the security program to clean up traces.

So please let us know what comes on your new PC and we can point you in the right direction.

If you are not sure then tell us the Make and exact model number including those codes that specify different variations and we can do some research.
