Hi yall! It would be nice if some expert could help me with this problem of not being able to use System Restore. I am using Windows XP home edition OS and just recently I noticed I can't do a System Restore procedure, I get this message stating windows was unable to restore at the point I selected. So I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with NIS, maybe I have to turn something off, I just don't know. Don't want to try anything right now cause I might just get my PC in more trouble than it is now....I'm just afraid of all those malicious viruses that can ruin one's PC.
I see this silent mode feature but I don't know for sure if that is what I turn off. So would appreciate some help...thanks a lot!!

You have to disable Tamper Protection in order to accomplish a System Restore!

sirdrake68,
Are you running NIS2011? If so after doing the system restore successfully is Norton still ok? I recently did a system restore on my Vista 32 bit computer and a computer running XP, both running NIS2011 but found I had to re-install Norton on both machines afterwards because of unfixable errors.

Hi Mikosh! Yes I'm runing NIS 2011 and I don't see any problems with Norton after successfully doing a restore. Everything is running fine right now.
