My subscription ran out this morning and I purchased a renewal.  I made the mistake of thinking that my account automatically updated with the renewal and updated my NIS version to NIS 2012.  Now, I'm stuck in trial mode and can't find a way to put in my 19-character renewal code.  Please help.

Look at the bottom of the main User Interface for Subscription Status. Beside that is a Renew link. Click that and click I have a key or code to enter. enter your code on the next page.

For me, it says "Trial Period Status" and then under that has "15 days remaining" along with a link for "Activate Now".  That leads me to a screen that asks for a 25-digit subscription code, and my 19-digit renewal code doesn't like that.  :(

If you log into your Norton Account, does it show the correct renewed expiry date? ie does it expire in 2013? If it does, click on the Download button beside that installation, and it will download and install a pre activated copy of NIS.

If you still have problems, contact Norton Support by online chat. They should be able to fix up your subscription. They can be found here www.norton.com/chat

Since it's a trial version it doesn't have a product key. 

So that's the reason you're unable to use the renewal code

In order to use the renewal code, you must have a product key 25 Digit Alpha numeric

Please log in to your Norton account (http://www.mynortonaccount.com)

You can see the list of programs under product name

Please click on the Norton internet security the one which is expired

Now you could see a list of items populating as mentioned below

Product key                          ****

Product serial number      ****

Registration Date               ****

Product Language             ****

Use the product key to activate your trail Norton internet security 

After activating you Norton program using the 25 digit product key you could see 0 Days remaining

Now use the renewal code to activate the program.

Downloaded NIS 2010, put subscription code in a couple times, was finally able to put in my renewal code.  Many thanks.
