Hello,
I tried to uninstall NIS 2012 with the norton removal tool. However the removal tool does not want to do the job, because it finds remainders of Norton utilities 15. The tool says I should remove Norton Utilities by W7. However this has been done already by "remove programs" in W7 and according to this, it should no longer by available. I think some files or registry entries are not completely gone and are preventing the removal tool to do its job. Unfortunately this prevents me from clean reinstalling NIS 2012. Does anybody have an idea how I can resolve this?
Kind regards,
Dave

Try re-installing Norton Internet Security and then uninstalling it through the add/remove programs and rebooting BEFORE using the removal tool.

Hi Dave,
If I understand your situation correctly. You may need to reinstall Norton Utilites 15 and then uninstall it and run the Norton Removal Tool in order to get rid of any left overs from an incomplete uninstall of NU 15.

Thanks for the help. A nasty flue kept me away from my computer a couple of days. Just re installed Norton Utilities 15, removed it again by its own un installer. After that the Norton removal tool was running correctly which allowed me to make a clean install of NIS 2012. Again thanks for the help.
Kind regards,
Dave
