Update 17.7.0.12 Broke Email scanner

Hello All,

After having update 17.7.0.12 automatically installed on my system yesterday, I now notice that it broke the feature in the email scanner to automatically deleted infected files without giving me the pop-up options box about what I want to do with the file. I USED to just get a small window that said a virus had been detected NOW I get a POP-UP BOX ASKING WHAT TO DO. I looked in the email scanner options and DON'T ASK is selected as you can see here:

Any ideas on how to correct this matter cause the pop-up box is driving me NUTS!

Thanks!!

Hi clint45

The issue is with incoming or outgoing mail?

If, however, you are referring to the "automatically remove" option being shown in the picture you attached then that is for outgoing mail so it would seem that you have some infection on your PC that you need to clean up if your outgoing mail is infected.

Nope, I'm getting this ONLY on INCOMING EMAIL....My computer is clean! This didn't happen until I had the new update installed yesterday!

What I'm getting at here is, if this BOX is a NEW FEATURE of the update, how do I disable the box like it was before (Just a small box in lower right hand corner telling file was deleted) and just let NAV delete the INCOMING FILE without any interaction from me.

THIS IS ONLY HAPPENING ON INCOMING EMAIL

The only thing that potentially has changed is the Low Risks setting (under Computer Settings) that may have been set to Remove before and now is at Ask Me.

Re: Update 17.7.0.12 Broke Email scanner

Ok, I'll set it to REMOVE and see what happens....I just know I never got the pop-up box until the update was installed yesterday. Like I said, just a small box in the lower right hand corner of the screen telling me virus had been detected and removed from INCOMING email and NOT a pop-up asking what to do.

Thanks.....We'll see how it goes.

Re: Update 17.7.0.12 Broke Email scanner

Hello

I don't know if there is any connection or not, but I just got a windows update about Time Changes having to do with DayLight Savings Time for 2010. When I read the description for the update, it mentioned that it could affect Outlook some how. I don't know if you are using Outlook or not, but perhaps this windows update has something to do with this problem also. I noticed from the ss that showed your desktop, that you are using xp.

Also please check the ports that you use for email too as the email scanner only works for the standard email ports.

The problem is now solved! Somehow when the new update was applied to the system it changed the setting on how to notify me, I have reset my setting and all is right with the world again!

Thanks for the quick response!
