Hi there,

Ever since the 19.8 update got installed, IE8 now crashes every time I go to Gmail.

I'm running Windows XP Home 32bit, but it's also happening on my laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit, also IE8.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for letting us know about this problem. Are you seeing this after logging into gmail? or when going to a specific site? I'm not able to reproduce this on IE8 -- what is the full version of IE8 that you're using? Any details you can provide would be helpful. Thanks.

Just to report -> same here on XP Pro SP2, when trying to login on gmail I get this: We were unable to return you to google.com. Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem. no problem to open google.com Firefox works flawlessly though...

Using windows 7 home premium, I'm having the same problem with Gmail authentication using IE8, it does not authenticate through to gmail inbox. Is there an easy way to remove latest Norton live updates to see what has changed?

It crashes GMAIL right after the user name and password is entered.  I disabled the Norton Identity Protection and Toolbar add-ons and I can now get into GMAIL.  I am running XP with SP3 update and IE 8.0.6001.18702IC.

Norton developers, shame on you!  You have cost many IT and users 1000s of hours!  You need better QA!!!!!!

I just loaded my gmail address after logging into google first and had No problem, I'm running XP3 IE8 Media Ed., running 32bit, even sent my other e-mail address an e-mail, I have installed the latest MS Updates...........Best........Gorpy 1

Same problem here after the last NIS update 19.8.0.14 when I try to login using Id and password to my email web site (alice,it). It happens using IE 9 and FF 14.01. The module getting the crash is: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.6161_none_50934f2ebcb7eb57\MSVCR90.dll If I disable only the Norton Toolbar all works fine. Using all the older NIS version I never got that problem. I'm runnig Win 7 (64-bit).
