Why is this marked as solved? I don't see the poster saying everything is OK
I have the same issue and don't see an answer here. Perhaps I am missing something.
What I think is Norton sent out a bum downloadable update. I have 2 computers that both have the same issue after a recent update.

Hi Grippy
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums
The solution, for the original poster, seems to have been a reinstallation of NIS 2011.
Could you advise what the issue is that your machines are experiencing. Please provide some detail on your Operating System and Norton Product/Version that you have installed
Thanks

"The solution, for the original poster, seems to have been a reinstallation of NIS 2011."
Where is that indicated by the poster in the post?

Hi Grippy,
Only the opening poster can mark a thread as solved. In this case the OP marked mdturner's advice to reinstall as the solution.

Hi Grippy
Could you let us know what you were trying to do at the time you got the error message? A little background on your system would also help - what operating system is installed, service pack level, is it 32 or 64 bit. What Norton Product/Version do you have installed or are trying to install?
Thanks

If you read my post you will find what OS and i will add SP1.
The posted text also has the info you requested. Virus update failed in NIS 11
I don't think you have a solution other than reinstall

HI Grippy
Are you running a liveupdate on these systems or downloading and running the Intelligent Updater File? If you are using Intelligent Updater did you download the 32 or 64 bit file?
