Update NIS2009 from 16.0.0.125 to 16.1.0.33. The 16.0.0.125 folder is still there, safe to delete?

I just noticed NIS2009 downloading a patch of almost 8MB, after the restart I saw NIS2009 got an upgrade to version v16.1.0.33. In my C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\ folder I still see several subfolders of the previous v16.0.0.125 version. Are those safe to delete or are they still needed somehow, because one might think that if they are not needed anymore that the Norton installer would have deleted them...

Any chance we might get to see a changelog? :smileywink:

As far as I am aware, Version "16.1.0.33" has not been Released yet.  Maybe symantec could comment on this.

Hello Denniz,

I wouldn't start deleted the Norton folders just yet.  Maybe rename the folders or copy them over and ensure things still work.

I would agree here.

Just got Three Updates which Require a Re-start, so this may be the Next Version you mention here; going to re-start soon.

So, this means that NIS will be updated to a new version via Live Update?

Well done!

Is this for all Windows versions or just some?

Dear Symantec,

Hi, I understand there is a new updated version of NIS2009, where and when will I be able to receive it via LiveUpdate.

I will be EXTREMELY upset, if users CANNOT received update via Liveupdate and must visit this forum or Symantec Website for new version.  IT has to be done automatically.

Thank you

Run Norton LiveUpdate now and you will get the Three Updates which Require a Re-start.

Just did it, but nothing on liveupdates.  Is the releases going out phase by phase?  Should all users be updated?

I do not know why mind does not update.
