Re: Updated but still on 19.2.0.10

I suspect the problem is that one of the updates failed but was flagged as successful so LiveUpdate isn't attempting to reinstall it.  Probably going to need some kind of utility that looks at the version of the engine.dll file and then reset the update flag if is not the latest version.  Then LiveUpdate should be able to install the new version and all else should go well.

I got the restart request from LU yesterday but doing do did not update my version of NIS.

same issue here.  keep running live update, but still on 19.2.0.10,  several earlier requests for restart with no version change after reboot.

Hi

I have the same issue. Previous week i received 2 product updates but now I can't download and install 19.5.

I also didn't got "language-neutral" 19.5 product update. I'm in Hungary.

My NUMEng.dll version is: 19.5.0.145 BUT my NIS version is 19.2.0.10.

Based on my understanding of checks in the log file, I believe that's actually ok.

The issue I believe is that the Engine.dll (i.e. the installer engine stored in the NortonInstaller cache folder) didn't update for a number of people.  LiveUpdate won't install the 19.5.0.145 update unless the installer engine is at least version 7.5.0.21.

On my system Engine.dll is located at:

"C:\Program Files\NortonInstaller\{{GUID}\NIS\562C4DD5\19.2.0.10\Engine.dll"

My guess is that a patch wasn't applied correctly (or at all) for a number of people.  Personally I had an update last week that prompted me to restart my computer, which I did.  Yesterday I manually ran Live Update and was told I needed to restart, which I did, but nothing changed.  After that I can run LiveUpdate as many times as I want and it says everything is up to date (since it's failing the update check).

I also had the same two restart prompts that you had as well.. one last week and the other one the day before yesterday.. needless to say I'm still on 19.2.0.10 ..

Re: Updated but still on 19.2.0.10

Same problems as others ....

NIS 2012 v 19.2.0.10 on three computers: two running XP, one running W7 64-bit. LU will not upgrade any of my computers to 19.5.

On all computers, I ran LU multiple times (until LU reported that Download Updates and Process Updates are "Not Required"). Only the W7 computer received a reboot request when running LU ... but I have rebooted all three computers multiple times, and run LU multiple times, and I'm still on v 19.2.0.10

Here are some file versions taken from my PC that is running Windows 7:

Engine.dll = 7.1.0.38
NUMEng.dll = 19.5.0.145
diLueCbk.dll = 7.5.0.58
lue.dll = 1.8.2.10

Again, like others here .... it appears that my Engine.dll is downlevel and LU will not upgrade.

I am located in USA .... my NIS 2012 is the English version, and my subscription is the English version.

I refuse to do that..... Evertime there is a FF update, this happens and i spend my precious time doing somethign on all 3 of my machines that frankly I should not have to do.  Im seriosly at a point of wondering, how can I trust my AV program when it cant even take care of itself. I have over my subscription time gave ample time to try to understand this each and everytime... yet my patience is just about over with.

I decided to bring up my laptop (haven't used it in a  month) and after lots of partial live updates and reboots it is now at 19.5... I noticed that during the installs there is both a nortoninstaller directory for 19.2 and 19.5 so the engine.dll is not the issue.  After the last update only the 19.5 directory remains.

Note my Desktop, which I use every day, however is stuck on 19.2.  LU doesn't think there are any updates.
