Hi,

will new builds be available through LiveUpdate or do we have to install them manually?

Thanks,

What Norton Product are you referring to?

Re: Updates

No, you will not get New Versions through Norton LiveUpdate; symantec will inform Users here and will proide you with the Web Link for the New Version.  I suppose you could get it through Norton LiveUpdate depnding on how big the New Version is.

Hi Roland,

Yes, product updates (new builds) will continue to be made available through LiveUpdate as it has been in the past. Thanks!

Re: Updates

Dear Mr Weiss

Sorry, Mr Weiss, that is not true.  New builds of  NIS2008 were not updated via LiveUpdate. I  had to visit this forum then I realised that a new build was available. (ie:- version 15.06 to vesion 15.6).  I was not made aware of it until Firefox problems with Norton Toolbars.

I think Symantec should have the feature for build updates or Symantec should provide a link to the Norton Account (for Norton Users) or via EMAIL that a new build is available.

So, I heard that NIS2009 will be coming out with a new build (16.1).  Will users get this update build via LiveUpdates?

Thank you

Hi Sea_Monster,

I apologize; I did not mean to imply that every update ever released for a Symantec product has always been immediately released to customers through LiveUpdate. As we have discussed at length previously, the NIS 15.5 release was done so with a specific purpose at that time. This should be considered the exception to the rule.

Unless a similar situation arises as did with NIS 15.5, the next update for NIS 2009 will be distributed to customers through LiveUpdate. Thanks!
