75,
I suggested that a moderator split your message off from the thread you posted in precisely because as you say your problem is quite different and you will get better coverage this way -- so now your message is about what your subject says!
There is a support called Intelligent Updater through which you can download a single package that contains uptodate definitions as of that date but I'd rather someone else, more acquainted with how it works, explains what to do.

You can download the "Intelligent updater" from www.symantec.com/autotools and run it to install. It will install the updates on your computer

The Intelligent Updater others have mentioned is an option but given the typical size of said file is 70 to 75 MBs (depending on whether you have 32 or 64-bit Windows) it probably wouldn't be a very good option. In my dial-up days I figured 4 to 5 minutes per Megabyte with a decent connection, so a 70 MB file would take at best several hours. A regular LiveUpdate would likely involve less data and so be faster even after a week or more of vacation.
Alas, dialup is dialup and it is not fast. You need to make a friend that has a fast connection. <grin> Then you could download the most recent Intelligent Updater file at his house onto a USB stick, then take it home, copy the file to your computer and then run it. Short of that method, it's bite the bullet time...

Hello 75
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
The Intelligent updater would be just the antivirus updates that came out that day, each day a new one comes out. You would still have to catch up on the other updates that come thru live update every day.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.
