Hi, can anyone help.  

My PC has 3 users ( 1 admin & 2 standard).  

Admin installed FF 8 and IE 9 (both with Norton Toolbar and safeweb available), for all users.

However, the FF8 in the standard users DO NOT HAVE Norton Toolbar and safeweb.  There are no indication of Norton Toolbar in the ADDNOS for FF8, I tried rebooting, installing FF, but Norton Toolbars still no show in FF8.

Admin users has Norton Toolbar and Safeweb.

Note that only happened in FF8.  FF 7 and IE 9 are okay.

Don't know why?

    I am not  able to reproduce the same issue  as the toolbars are present under extensions  in the standard users also.

Please confirm this 

1)Is this issue occuring only for Norton toolbar or if there are other toolbars which are available in both admin and Standard Users.

2) The Operating system configuration,Toolbar version in Admin account .

You can try uninstalling FFv8 and reinstalling FFv8 directly and check .

Thank you for your reply.

Point 1 :- There are no other Toolbars available for users.  Both are using the same NIS2012 (19.2).  Both are using IE 9 and FF 8.

Point 2: It is a Notebook running Vista SP2 (32bits).

Version of Norton Toolbar, I will have to check....but I assumed they are the same.

I tried uninstalling FF8 and same problem.

One thing I noticed.....I installed FF8 from the ADMIN and realized that the standard users DO NOT have the FF8 icon on their desktop.  So, I created FF8 shortcuts on standard users desktop.  Could it be the problem?

FF8 run okay on standard users, no issues with plugins...but Norton Toolbar and Safeweb are not available.

I am not too sure if that is the issue, where Admin created FF8 shortcut into Standard users desktop but installation was done under Admin.

P/S :- I did the same thing before....without any issues.

Hi Sea_Monster ,

    Thank you for providing the additional information .Since even shortcuts are not getting created  let us find out if this ia notebook specific restriction . Kindly install some free third party toolbars like google toolbar or yahoo tool bar in the Admin account ( just for testing purpose ) and pls check if the toolbars are available in the standard accounts .This will help us to narrow down the issue if all toolbars are restricted in some way  or  if this is Norton specific .
