Hi there,
My Norton Internet Security has found the virus vamprtv.sys which it can't remove. Is there an easy way to remove this virus from my PC ?
Also, it is quaranteening files in my temp directory which are from a web site I have never heard of and they are there everytime I turn the internet on, even before I visit any web sites. Is there a way of blocking the temp files that come from this particular web site ??
Thanks. !!

Hello aussie_dave
Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum
If NIS found a .sys file and it can't remove it, it sounds to me like you have a rootkit.. I would suggest that you back up your important files like pics, music, documents etc. You may have to pay a visit to a site like www.bleepingcomputer.com to get it cleaned up. There will be a wait most likely and put that name of the system file into the subject. Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Run the scan in Normal mode, do not use Aggressive Mode. Check whether the scans detect any threats and let us know the results.
