Version update after re-imaging

[ Edited ]

Hello -  I have used a full-system disk image to restore the computer but the NIS  version is stuck on the one that was current at the time the image was made, this being version 19.2.0.10. I note that the latest should be 19.6.1.

I have tried running Live Update a number of times, some of these attempts being after rebooting the computer. However, no joy with updating so far. Will this resolve itself if I keep on trying, or will a reinstalling of NIS be necessary?

Edit: Sorry - should have added that I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit,

Re: Version update after re-imaging

It's OK now thanks. It seemed that Live Update wasn't ever going to work, so I bit the bullet and uninstalled/reinstalled NIS in the end.

Re: Version update after re-imaging

Glad you worked it out -- sounds like something stuck in the restored version or maybe the dates of the restored NIS and the system were out of synch.? I've not heard of this happening but .....

Glad to hear you were able to solve your problem.

You are not alone with this issue. There is a thread that covers this issue. It starts here http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Updated-but-still-on-19-2-0-10/td-p/6...

Re: Version update after re-imaging

The operation wasn't too painful using the 'Norton Remove & Reinstall' tool. Much less trouble than keeping on trying Live Update. I had quite a bit of trouble with the same thing on the last update but Live Update did eventually work. Now I've used the Remove/Reinstall tool once, I think I'd reach for it a bit more readily next time.
