Re: Virus blocking access to Norton and other security sites

Freeten,

You have not done as I asked and used Avenger with the script, to remove the Rootkit,  So you saying this and that won't work, getting to websites, error messages.

yeah all the spymtoms will continue until removal, but you don't seem to want to follow what to do,  I'm not a miracle worker so there is nothing else I can do, Until you follow instuction.

Re: Virus blocking access to Norton and other security sites

what im saying is how would i get avenger if i cant connect to the internet on the infected computer and i only didnt download it cause it was very late when we got to the point of avenger.exe which is why i was wanting to wait till the next day and that was downfall because the next day it wouldnt let me connect(wireless works fine on friends laptop)and also i do have a flashdrive but im afraid i used it on my infected computer after getting the rootkit so im wondering if it will infect my friends laptop of i get avenger off of it. sorry if i didnt make it clear i was having to use someone elses laptop cause i cant get avenger on the infected computer till i find a way to connect and safe mode the computer crashes sometimes from just visiting a semi-large website and downloads are impossible altogether.

i suppose the question i need answering is if my flashdrive wont infect this laptop and if it wont then i can get avenger and the text needed from it but if the flashdrive is already infected then id like to find another way if possible and find out how to remove the infection from the flashdrive

If you want to be sure, get a new flash drive.  A small inexpensive one will do.

Re: Virus blocking access to Norton and other security sites

what you do is on a new Flash drive is download on to the flash drive, all the programs so that they are all on the Flash Drive ready to plug into your machine

Malwarebytes 1.39

SuperAntispyware Free    with Database that can be downloaded here http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html

Hijackthis

Avenger, with the script for Avenger

We don't know if it is on your old flash drive or from something you downloaded etc.  Don't get ahead of yourself.  IF it is on your old Flash Drive how would you remove it if the PC that you are using to try and do so is infected, so just re infects the flash drive again, or other things that could mean going around in circles.
