Norton antivirus couses more trouble than viruses worldwide if you have more than a few program on your computer. I have helped lots of my clients for about ten years now with removing Norton antivirus from their computer because of all the truble it makes. And it has the worst protection off all other programs I have seen on any computer. After installing any other viruskiller most of the time you find lots of viruses Norton don`t find.
You are better off with any free antivirus you can find.
Don`t take my word for it... google it.

I dont think anyone will be taking your post seriously, it is your first post (well under that name anyway) and it is clear you have a grievance with symantec. If you have any clear evidence of your claims, I mean claims made by any respected people in the internet security field, then please by all means post the links to the forum so we can see these claims. Symantec might have made a few **bleep** ups lately in my opinion, but to make false accusations about them is slanderous. Im all for Symantec getting slated when they make **bleep** ups, but your kind of malicious comments is very unhelpful. Just for the record the only problems I have had with Norton 360 is it failing to back up all my files, and of course the Norton IPS issue with firefox which is most annoying. There does not appear to be any issues with any other software I have installed on my computer. Also my computer does not show any signs of having a virus, and malwarebytes anti malware and super anti spyware confirm that there is no malware on my computer, also recent checks with anti rootkit software suggest I am rootkit free. I have never had a virus in the 5 months since I installed norton 360.
I have to agree with this. symantec's Firewall for Norton Products is one of the best out there, and their Intrusion Prevention is the best out there, in my view; their Intrusion Prevention Scored 100% Blocks in Tests. As long as you Upgrade to the Newest Version that the Norton Products are made for your Operating System, and you keep it up-to-date, then you will be well-Protected if you use Norton 360, e.g. Version 3, or Norton Internet Security, e.g. 2009.

I think that most members of this forum wll strongly disagree with you. Especially since all you have done is rant your opinion without and substantive evidence to back it up. I do, however, think that there is more behind your comment than you are actually telling us about.

I've seen so many positive reviews about the norton 2009 product that you can't even imagine. Norton is one of the best, most though and fastest Anti-Virus applications available. Only applications like Avira, Kaspersky and NOD32 might be able to compete just a bit with Norton.
I must say, i am really impressed with the 2009 and 2010 Norton products and right now i am inviting everybody else to give Norton a try and then tell us what they think. Have you even tried installing Norton Internet Security 2009 on your computer and see how extremely well it protects your computer in one comprehensive package.

I am very pleased with Norton so far and love the fact that this great community exists.

Along with the other members of the norton forum who have responded to your posting I couldn't disagree with you more. You make wild accusations that you do not provide any tangible (legitimate tests of norton products or professional reviews) or even circumstantial (telling us what problems norton products have caused you and your clients) evidence to back them up.
Personally, I have been using NIS for the last 3 years and in my opinion it provides excellent comprehensive security. I did my homework before buying to ensure I was getting the best possible product for my money.
Yes you are entitled to your opinion, however, if you want people to even acknowledge your opinion you need to kindly state your grievances with norton products, explain why you have them, and perhaps even propose what norton can do to correct them and make their products even better in the future.
Though that is just my two cents. ![]()
