Firstly just to clear the decks -- there are no longer any Netbook versions of the Norton Security. There were when netbooks first came out in order to deal with not having a CD drive and originally a very small screen. But now the screens are bigger and the Norton interface fits in fine; we can give you links to download an installation file if you should buy a copy retail and it's on a CD.
The basic AV engines in NIS and NAV are the same but NIS has added protection in having it's own software Firewall that is under your control and NIS has a utility called Identity Safe that stores login data for websites you visit and can log you in automatically.
Personally I would go for NIS since it's all in one package but doesn't contain the extra utilities the Norton 360 (which you do not mention) does but which I prefer to avoid.
Let us know if we can help you any more -- just remember one thing: most computers come with a free trial installation of some security program and you need to remove it and clean up with a special tool before installing another brand. If it comes with Norton, let us know which and we can say whether you need do anything; if it comes with another brand then we can tell you how to clean up with a tool from that brand's website.
Check out the weekend flyers for good prices on NIS or check reputable suppliers on the internet (but be wary of individuals since there are a lot of scammers around selling used or fraudulent products or Keys to activate).
If you find something and decide to get it let us know if we can help you with the installation.

:) Both Antivirus and Internet Security (and Norton 360) can be used on notebook!

That must be a 2011 edition or earlier I guess since they dropped the netbook edition with the 2012 versions.
Let me get some advice from Norton Staff on how you should handle it -- do you plan to purchase a subscription from Norton or to buy a copy of NIS 2012 retail and take advantage of the rebates that tend to come and go bearing in mind that what you buy will be the standard version of NIS?
When does your trial expire? Because when it does all protection ceases .... it does't just continue with frozen definitions.
There will be a new set of sales prices tomorrow, Sunday, but at the moment it's mostly Norton 360. Have a look at Amazon on the internet. Do you have or are likely to have more than one PC to protect because the 3 PC version of NIS is more common than the 1 PC version.
