Will I lose my Norton security subscription if I restore my computer to factory version?

Hi amyorvin,

If your computer came pre-installed with a trial security program it will be reloaded as well and it needs to be thoroughly removed using that programs removal tool before installing NIS

Short answer No.  If you are going to reinstall on the same hardware you will not lose your subscription.

You might like to backup (export) your ID Safe data to a USB flashdrive first.

When you go to download NIS,  Sign in to your Norton Account to download a fresh copy.  This copy will be activated,  so all you will need to do is run Live Update,  rebooting as required,  until no more updates are available,  then import your ID Safe data.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks,  Dave.
