I hope this is where this goes...new user of the forums. I read an article today datelined Washington AP about thousands of people losing their internet access in July because of a scam/virus run out of Estonia. The FBI is involved, and supposedly, they have a site you're to go to and see if your computer is infected, and what to do about it. Is Norton aware of this, and is this legitimate? Thanks.

I don't where exactly you read it but being told to go to a website which will check you for infections is one of the classic ways that malware gets onto your computer!
A Google on << losing their internet access in July because of a scam/virus run out of Estonia >> does refer to what you say but I think your best bet is not to do anything unless you get some serious advice here; if your machine is working OK now personally I would not worry.
You may want to look at this https://forms.fbi.gov/check-to-see-if-your-compute
Hang on for some more advice.

Hi Anjullyn,
The bad guys behind DNS Changer were caught last November, but because millions of infected PCs were still being directed to the malicious DNS Servers, a court ordered that a private company take over those servers in order to give victims time to clean up their infected machines and reset their DNS settings to legitimate providers. Originally, the DNS Changer servers were to be taken down last March, but because of the number of users still infected, a delay was granted until July.
So, if you have a DNS Changer infection that is still unresolved, you may find that you will be unable to reach any websites after the servers are no longer operational on July 9. For more background on this, see Brian Krebs' blog here:

To check your PC for DNS Changer, visit this site:
Norton detects DNS Changer as Zlob or Tidserv as explained here:

Hi Send,
So, I am to assume that if my computer has already been running clean thanks to the tireless protection of N360 and MBAM (Paid Version) I WILL have Internet July 9th? Rats. I was kinda hoping that the Internet would cease in totality - - and NEVER come back again. I know I'll take a lot of heat for this (and I really don't care), but in many respects, the Internet has become nothing more than a sewer that exploits women in every way, shape, and form.
I love it. The Government directs people to this Website to supposedly "check" for a problem, meanwhile, it will probably install trackware to intrude more into our lives. The timeliness of Pink Floyd is incredible. "Mother can I trust the government...."? I wouldn't trust this government for beans.

On the other hand, the criminals behind DNS Changer were able to surrepticiously direct millions of infected machines to any websites that they chose. This would still be going on if not for.....yeah, the government.
