Word and Outlook 2003 Slow after NIS2009 Install

I have installed NIS2009 on 6 machines and all work fine except 1.  They are all laptops running WinXP SP2 or SP3 and the problem machine is SP2.

Since installing when you type into a word document the display of the typing is very slow or falls behind by 5 to 6 words.   In Outlook you double click on an e-mail to open it and the hourglass sits for up to 30 seconds before the e-mail opens.

  • Neither of these problems were noticed with NIS2008I
  • If you disable NIS temporarily the problem disappears for the duration the NIS is disabled.
  • I have used the Norton Removal Tool and reinstalled NIS2009 and the same problem occurs.

The ONLY difference in the install was that after the original 2009 install I chose the option to install Parental and Privacy Controls thru the settings area of NIS2009.  The install of this feature hung and the laptop had to be rebooted.  I did not choose this option again after the 2nd install of NIS2009.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Do you have the Office scan checked? What happens if you disable this?

Stu, office scan is checked and I will disable it the next time I am at that machine and try that.  I'm not sure why this machine would be different as it is enabled on the other 5 machines as well.

Stu, I was able to check and the office scan's were disabled.

There's another post that is having a similar problem so I've detailed more information there.
