Worried about 'Renewal' page. Advice needed

Hi Everyone, I was just about to renew my subscription. I clicked on the ‘Renew’ of my NAV2012. This took me to a page where I made my choice of 1 or 2 year subscription. I was then taken to a page that required me to type in all my personal details, including my credit card detail. Just as I was about to complete the page, I noticed there was no ‘padlock’ being displayed on the bottom right of my web browser. Is this normal for Norton or was I on a bogus page? Also, why was I being asked for my credit card details when Symantec already have them? I’ve got 17 days left of my current subscription, so there’s no need to hurry. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Kimmy,

What browser were you using?  The most recent versions of Firefox no longer display a padlock for secure sites.  Instead you need to refer to the colored area shown in the address bar, known as the Site Identity Button, which indicates secure sites by color coding.  Clicking the button will display more information.  After the introduction of this feature, Firefox eliminated the padlock icon.
