Re: Wrong language

Hi,

you have to remove the program with the Norton Removal Tool, and then reinstall it.
Here are the steps:
1. If you use the feature, please backup your Identity Safe data
2. Download latest Norton Internet Security installer from here (this is the English one, for other languages please go to the Norton Update Center: www.norton.com/nuc )
3. Download Norton Removal Tool: www.norton.com/nrt
4. Disconnect from internet
5. Remove Norton Internet Security from Start Menu or from Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs
6. Reboot
7. Run the Norton Removal Tool, reboot (repeat it 2-3 times)
8. Install Norton Internet Security 2012
9. Reconnect to the internet
10. Activate it with your old serial
11. Run Live Update until you get no new updates
12. Restore your Identity Safe data

You can check how the Norton Removal Tool works in this video.

Let us know the results.

PapauZ,

<<  (this is the English one, for other languages please go to the Norton Update Center: www.norton.com/nuc ) >>

I thought that the Norton Update Center always downloaded the language version of the KEY so if his key is English then that is what will come down? I'm sure I remember we tell people not to use the Update Center to update when you are mixing languages for KEY and application?

Someone has a list of foreign language URLs which download the localized versions and those don't change when the KEY is used?

Or am I missing something?

Re: Wrong language

Alan --

What country are you located in?

What URL did you download from? Did it use the Download Manager or did you download a single file and then run it? What aabout the first computer -- anything different about how you went about it?

Re: Wrong language

Hugh, you are right; NUC will download, depending on the key, which is country dependant.

For other languages the URL will be :

www.norton.com/xx/nis12

where 'xx' stands for countrycode, f.i. ; nl  for Dutch and  it  for Italian and so on.

No, you can change the language with manualy selection by clicking on the top (language changer), and it will download the product in the language than which was selected on the top.

Re: Wrong language

Ok, never thought of that possibility. If it works, ok...

My suggestion for the direct download also works and it saves you the NUC procedure, which I do not like, becuase it's harder to save your download.
