XP Internet Security 2010

Hi, I was browsing the forums and I'm looking for some help. Today, while looking for websites related to the soundtrack of Repo! the Genetic Opera, I got a lovely friend of mine again-- XP internet Security.

Now, this is maybe the third time I've gotten this rouge. Lovely, eh? Anyways, I was looking for some help on removing it. Obviously, I have another browser, as my IE is completely shot. I read up on other help and I downloaded HijackThis, as suggested by Quads.

What's my next step?

Thanks.

Re: XP Internet Security 2010

Can you tell us your operating system and service pack level?  Also you version of Norton?  Antivirus, Internet Security, N360, and the version number under Help and Support>about?

Have you cleared your browser cache, and temp files?

Run the executable file of Hijackthis, not the installed version.  Run the log, save it in Notepad, and attache it via the add attachments link below the main reply screen.  There may be a delay until an analyst is available.

Hi, omgxspazz,

Welcome to the Norton Community.

If you feel comfortable enough, if and when you Post the HijackThis Log, you may want to Submit any Malicious that may be pointed out to symantec Security Response, if you find that your Norton-branded is Not Detecting this: https://submit.symantec.com/websubmit/retail.cgi.
