Re: Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated

The email you have received with subject line of “You have successfully updated your Norton Account Billing Information” was the result of an internal standard credit card validation process.

There is no action required on your part.

We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

Re: Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated

That doesn't make sense.  I recently changed my credit card.  How was Norton able to get this new information? Please explain.  I checked my norton account and it was in there (the new credit card info).  Also, How do I remove my credit card information.    The system will not let me change it.  Please explain.  There is no way to get on the phone with anyone.

Re: Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated

In some cases where the credit card has been updated by the credit card company, they will automatically provide updated information.  You can send me a private message with your email address and last four digits of credit card and we will delete this information.

You can also contact Norton Support and they will be able to process this request for you.

somewhere,

If you are finding it hard to get on the Phone with any of the support folks at Norton, you can use the link below to chat with them.

It's easier than to wait on the call and listen to the options in the IVR.

Come to think of it, I think that my CC info is also new for this year (it was compromised last year and I got a replacement card).

This is very upsetting to me and I am going to call my CC Co. because they have NO business to give my new CC info to ANYONE!

I don't care who the merchant is nor does not matter that I have purchase from a merchant before...it just is not right to do this.  What if I did not want to order from a merchanty again and/or want to avoid invalid charges?

My Norton subscription is up for renewal in about a week and I wonder if that is why this all came about!

But what if I did not feel like renewing it (I will renew, but that is not the point)?

Re: Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated

Hello

I guess it depends on the credit card that you use. I know I have some things charged to my credit cards every month and when it gets close to that time when the credit card is going to expire, the places that charge me monthly, notify me in advance asking for updated information.I guess there are different rules in different countries also and among the different credit card issuers.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

OK, I have the same problem.  The difference is, I can't get Norton Customer Service to solve it.  I've been receiving the same emails, caused by an automatic upgrade of my CC, with the Subject "Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated", and a send time of 8/30/2010, 3:31 PM CT.  I have received this email approx. every ten minutes since then, thousands of emails, even though I've altered my account information myself since then, to change the email address to a new one (These emails still go to the old address).  I've contacted Norton customer service twice, and have the Case # [removed], but they haven't solved the problem, and I keep being called by managers during my work time to contact them.  I've given them all the information, including this community topic, but to no avail.  Can anyone help me PLEASE?

[edit: removed case number per the Participation Guidelines and Terms of Service. Number is has been noted internally]

Re: Your Norton Account Billing Information has been updated

OK, I've "chatted" with another service rep, who says there is no way that Norton is sending the email, so I have to assume that my former ISP has a totally nuts server that's sending these emails.  Since I no longer have service with them, but am only accessing the account to find companies and people still accessing my old account, there is nothing I can do.  I have to be honest, I don't feel good about this event happening with the company that's supposed to provide me with internet security!

chezjay --

Please keep an eye on your query here. I know it has been flagged for attention by one of the moderators here and I'm more inclined to rely on them to check and confirm.

I have a recollection of seeing a confirmation in the last few days that there was a system error that was sending out repeated emails ....

PS Here's the link to a message from a Norton Staffer -- their names are in red here in the forums -- referring to the error:

http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Your-Norton-Account-Billing-Informati...

Anyway -- don't do anything about the email but check here from time to time to see what may be posted -- being a weekend it sometimes takes a bit longer to verify things.
