Isn't Norton Antivirus supporse to have a ad blocker feature now?  If so, why doesn't it block c5.zedo.com ads?!  If not, what is the best way to get rid of these ads for good (as opposed to simply blocking them)?

At last check there was no ad blocker. There are tools in your browser that can block pop-ups. This is a perfect solution but it helps

Getting rid of them for good - sorry, the only way I know to never see another ad is to turn off the computer, tv, radio, close the blinds and put in ear plugs after I put on my sleep mask. And then I'd expect no more than a week of peace before somebody figured a way to get some sort of ad message to me

They are a fact of life and a pain in the neck, or somewhere below that.

Keeping your programs current, running the Norton scans and a malware bytes free malware scan will do about as much to keep the machine clean as can be done. The rest is pretty much up to you and the places you visit. Some sites generate all of their funds from ads. This means that they are going to blast as many different ads in as many different ways as they possibly can every second you're connected to them.

Using Firefox with the NoScript add-on limits ads a great deal without slowing of the system.  It takes a bit of learning which scripts can be allowed and which are not, but it is very effective.

I would like to help and provide a couple of options here:

If you are getting pop up ads from c5.zedo.com which you would not like to receive then I would suggest you to use our opt out page http://www.zedo.com/tools/zedo_optout.cgi This will ensure that you would not receive any pop up ads that are generated using ZEDO technology.

If you are concerned about blocking regular (non-pop) ads from c5.zedo.com then I would suggest you to address this with Norton about getting the ad blocker feature activated.
