My PC is running Windows 7 and when I close down the system an error window comes up saying -
"ccSvcHst.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x711959a7 referenced memory at 0x00000008. The memory could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program"
I click on OK, and the message comes up again. This sequence is repeated twice more before the system can switch itself off. Is there anything I can do to repair/remove this error?
The PC is also running Norton Internet Security 2010

HI jammrcr
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums
Could you check what the version of your NIS is? Go to Help & Support > About.
Do you have any other security software running?
Thanks

A similar problem occurs with my old laptop. When I shutdown, a display of some c*.* Error comes up, very fast, saying that something or other not shutting down/will be ended... the message does not stay up long enough for me to read it, but the computer then shuts down with no othe display of problems. ccSvHost, or something? I find no other operational dificulties. The computer works well and normally in every way that I can think. Startup no trouble; shutdown no real trouble (just sometimes showing that c*.* (I not remember exactly what) message during shutdown.
That computer: Laptop Computer from year 2002 manufacture, Windows XP S.P. 3, Norton Internet Security 2010, version 17.7

Thanks Vineeth, I tried the suggestion, but there isn't "AutoEndTasks" line in the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
Any other idea's?
Thanks

Please go through the following article, which has steps for fast shutdowns:
The Windows Vista steps will work with Windows 7 also.
