Hi Kirsty

Welcome. Whats happening when you download such files (any error message)?

You're not able to download and save those files or you're not able to download and open those files?

Are you downloading them from any website or they came in attachment and yo're trying to download them?

please let us know Which Browser you're using and which operating system you're using?

Re: downloading documents

I'm trying to download documents from a university website for my lectures, I am able to access them a work but not a home. I click on the link to download the doc and it brings the options whether I want to open, save or save as. I have tried all options, when I click open it opens a new tab then nothing happens. When I click save or save as it brings a message up saying the name of the document and that it could not be downloaded. If I download them from another computer and email them to myself I can access them from email but not directly from he website. I'm using windows vista and it's windows Internet explorer. thanks

Hi Kirsty

Can you please go ahead and try to download those files through a different browser like Google Chrome/Firefox and let us know.

Re: downloading documents

Kirsty,

From this computer at home which won't download the documents can you access the University for other purposes? Most such systems restrict access and so maybe your home computer does not have the right credentials?

<< If I download them from another computer and email them to myself  ....>>

Is this other computer at home or otherwise not on the University network?

Just trying to eliminate non-Norton causes!

Re: downloading documents

Kirsty

To see if this problem is caused by NIS, you can temporarily disable the Smart Firewall from the Advanced link on the main NIS screen. Then try to download one of your files. If you still cannot get the files, we will have to look elsewhere for the problem.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Identity Safe data.
