Until recently I was running NAV Corporate Edition, today I installed NAV 2011. I expected NAV2011 to uninstall NAV Corporat Edition during installation but this did not happen. NAV CE is still running and telling me to update virus definitions every time I start my XP/SP2. NAV2011 starts ok but after a few minutes it gives error 3035,6 and switches off Auto-Protect.
How do I get rid of NAV CE , it has no uninstall option, and how do I solve the 3035,6 problem
Regards

Hello newbie45
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
Please refer to this thread to find out how to remove your Corporate program. You will need to use a program called Clean Wipe which is mentioned in one of the posts, I think it was by Dave., sorry if I got the name wrong.
After you get the corporate program off of your computer, then you will have to uninstall NAV 2011 and reinstall that program to get a clean install.
Please use the control panel method to remove NAV 2011 and reboot.
Please get your key from www.mynortonaccount.com
Please use this link to get your NAV 2011.

Please run live update until no more updates and then reboot.
Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

newbie45 - Just a quick thought, you might want to upgrade to XP's Service Pack 3. Microsoft is no longer supporting Service Pack 2, so you may be exposing yourself to a security loophole. XP's Service Pack 3 should be good until 2014 sometime, and then XP will no longer be supported

find some time to spend on it I'll try the solution offered and report on it

Hi welcome,
Once you update to SP3 could you post the system specs you have here, and do you have any multiple security application running ?

problem solved
I ran cleanwipe, uninstalled NAV2011, and reinstalled NAV2011.
After that the problem did not occur anymore.
Moving to SP3 will haappen somewhere in the future
Thanks

Hi newbie45,
I hope you do not wait too long. Service Pack 2 is no longer supported by Microsoft. You need to have Service Pack 3 installed in order to receive the critical security patches that Microsoft releases every month - and there have been many since support for SP2 ended. The longer you wait the more at risk you are, and you are already highly susceptible to a myriad of attacks that could be easily prevented by updating your operating system.

Hello Newbie
Chances are if you are still running sp 2, you are probably behind in Java, and your adobe product updates as well. If you are behind in updating those products, you will be putting yourself at risk also.
