full scan

Hi can any one help me before I throw my computer out of the window:smileysad: A few days ago when I run full scan it stopped and would not go any further, I have tried nortons scan tool and it found no threats but I still cant run a full scan, today it reached 620,500 files and stopped at window\installer\367380msi has anyone any ideas of what could be wrong please

Actually this has been discussed in the past and in the link that peterweb correctly supplied is another link that states "What if this didn't work?"  It takes you to the following link:

Some of us Guru's think this should be the first thing that should be tried - prior running the NPE or the NRnRT.  This change in order has not been addressed by Norton, so the offical order still remains as the KB states. 

 

IMHO - I owuld try the easier thing first - the link I provided for the What if it didn't work?

 

Please let us know which oprder you elect and what the results are.

Thank you both, I tried the eraser link Peterweb before I saw Yank Gurus post, it found no problems so I went on to the second one and uninstalled/reinstalled norton and that has worked, thanks again, my computer will not be going out of the window :smileyhappy:
