Hi sagarpatel,
You do not want to remove ntuser.dat. You can place it out of sight by unchecking the "Show hidden files and folders" option in Windows. Please see the following for a discussion of what ntuser.dat is, and how to view it or hide it:

See what others suggest but if you don't know what a file does and/or how to deal with it PLEASE don't think you will benefit from removing it -- you ae more likely to end up with a dead computer and paying someone to restore it.
Please give us some more information -- here's my boilerplate for starters:
To get you the best advice, would you give us some more information about your system:
What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn where n is a number.
If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.
Please tell us why you want to get rid of this "shorcut" .... which so far as I can see is not a shortcut but a data file for Windows.
If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.
Please also say what internet browser you are using -- name and version number ...

Maybe you mean a tool like CCleaner which deletes
Temporary files, history, cookies, Autocomplete form history, index.dat
Please give us details, thanks.

That file is part of the operating system and the reason you see it, on your desktop I imagine, is because in the settings for Windows Explorer which pressing WINKEY + E at the same time will take you to make it show.
To change this open up Windows Explorer and if you do not see the Menu Bar ( File ..... Help ) press ALT and it will show.
Select Tools / Folder Options / View TAB and down there you will see Show hidden files with a dot against it. Deselect that by selecteing the one above it and OK your way out. Restart your computer and you should no longer see index.dat or the dekstop.ini files on your desktop
