I'm moving ~200 GB of files from my old computer to my new one that came with NIS.

NIS is "fixing" files that it thinks are infected; they are false positives.

When I try to use chat, I get "The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

so I am posting on the forums.

the Norton robot suggests going to "tasks" and doing something however I can't find "tasks" on the program.

Searching the forums found an answer in a link from 2009 that is now dead.

What version of NIS are you using on your computer? You can find it under About & Support = About

What kind of threats are your norton product finding, when you are moving your files from your old computer to your new computer, that you are using right now? Are you getting any messages from Norton IPS (Instrusion Prevention System) that Norton have blocked any attacks?

Can you be sure that your old computer is infected or not with a Virus/Trojan/Backdoor of some kind, and it is not a false positive.
