Hi everyone. i just started having this problem recently, starting yesterday, whenever I visit a certain site on Internet explorer,
I get this download bar sayign its downloading something from static.ak.fbcdn.net and then a notpe pad pops up with XD somthing in the file name, and a piece of code in the body. I haven't copied the exact file name or the code that is in the body, but i definitely know it starts with XD.
I looked up the url static.ak.fbcdn.ne and found out they are a phisihing site ownded by Facebook. I cant imagine facebook being responsible for this, it thought I was under atttack by some rogue internet hacker.
Anyway I would like to know if anyone here knows how to block this pop up from appearing on my comptuer when i use internet explorer on certain websites.
I will do more independent reseach on whether there are any methods to fix this problem on your own, but if anyone has experienced this and knows how to stop it pleas post here.

I have asked that the mods remove the link since you are not supposed to post potential unsafe links in the forum
OTHER READERS OF THE FORUM, DO NOT CLICK ON THE POTENTIAL BAD LINK.
I would recommend that you do a full scan with the free version of Malwarebytes.
Download the free version, install and update then run a FULL scan. After the scan completes you should post the logs back to this thread.
You can find Malwarebytes here
It is a safer location to get the program from than malwarebytes themselves because some malware creators have large lists of sites that they block. Please be careful to down load the correct program ----the FREE version of MALWAREBYTES
(Thanks to Delph for providing the alternative site)
In Internet Explorer you can use the Smart Filter and there is a way to report the site as unsafe. You can find the Smart Filter under Safety in IE 8.
Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.
