After 6 tries LiveUpdate has successfully completed. Thanks to all at Symantec for this!

Yesterday i could update successfully... but today again, "Failed to complete...§

Any other one in the same situation?

EDIT: It concerns Web Protection Definitions that can't be downloaded ans installed.

Today, Nis 2011 Italian, 6 failed LU update regarding network activity map, but resolved in 5-6 minutes.

I think that they are ramdom problem on LU servers...

The same here in Italy.  Yesterday and till this afternoon all worked fine. Now in the evening I tried again the interactive LU  and it FAILED (Norton 2012 Web Protection Definitions)!

I'm going to think it is a random issue. It never happened to me in the past!!!

Hi everyone, as this is an intermittent issue, and the workaround is to run LiveUpdate a subsequent time, you will continue to see times when the updates get completed successfully. You may also continue to see update failures. We are still working on this issue, and I would expect that you may still see the update failures from time to time. I only write this because a few people have written that "it's all working fine" while others write "I'm still seeing the problem." This is to be expected from this issue. I know it's a frustrating and upsetting issue; thank you for keeping us informed on the status as we progress on the fix.

Does a 'ding' or 'chime' was happen when this fails? Every time I boot recently, but not always, I get this sound played. Also I see my wired connection drop and reconnect when this happens. I open NIS and I see LiveUpdate didn't complete... If this IS the cause of the sound wave playing, how do I disable this?
