mysearchresults.com

How do I get rid of this? It is bogus search engine that has attached itself to all my browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome), cannot be deleted by normal means, and is, I understand, malware. Neither Norton nor Power Eraser detects it.

Hi tytim,

Plese download and run Malwarebytes AntiMalware FREE from here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

It is recommended not to use the free trial.

Please post your results.

Re: mysearchresults.com

Thank you for the lead. Being cautious I checked out Malwarebytes and it seemed to be legit, so I posted a question there asking if it could get rid of mysearchresults.com. Their technician Ron offered to help and led me through two applications of ComboFix, a powerful tool that produced reports he studied in order to give me further instructions. Eventually we got rid of the malware from all three browsers. He thinks it got in through a conduit toolbar installed by Freecorder, a widely used and rather useful utility. Did not use Malwarebytes itself, but I can't speak highly enough of the Malwarebytes team.

Re: mysearchresults.com

You can remove the browser add-on here by following the instructions on the company support site: http://support.mysearchresults.com/home

I'm guessing you downloaded this when you were downloading some other software you recently downloaded.
