nis spam protect sudden issue folders..?

[ Edited ]

Hello...I run nis 2010 17.6.0.32 32bit xp home sp3 and its up to date clean install no other security. Outlook 6.

All has ran well, then suddenly I opened email thru outlook and it said norton antispam has configured. Im like why? reconfig'd by itself eh?  I had no specific settings but spam used to go in a folder norton made itself which is there but norton is using one of my personal folders with "keep stuff" on it.  I almost deleted it all.

Why would norton suddenly use my personal folder to put spam in and if I click delete spam it clears my personal keep folder and the norton folder it created is not being used?

I re labeled a new folder for my keep stuff and moved it all but still why isnt norton using its self assigned spam folder?

I can resort to turning it off I suppose but what happened?  NOTE: I used this post to help and the two instructions given did not work...I followed them specifically. http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Suspected-spam-messages-are-not-moved...

Only new thing recently was usual tues windows updates.

Thanks for assist.

Hi artfreak

This seems to have been necessary, for people reporting in, after a manual liveupdate.

I was never asked to do a restart recently w/ nis update so is that the problem did I miss the update?

But the dumb site says Im up to date?

Is there a hot fix or something I can download?

Hi artfreak

Run a manual liveupdate and if there is nothing there then you are up to date and have not missed anything.

Re: nis spam protect sudden issue folders..?

Well I resolved it on my own heres how incase this is searched up for others:

I followed the linked past post how too then I deleted the folder it had started using on its own.  (in my case it started using my keepers folder and not the pre labeled self assigned norton one.

I did what link said in its second set of directions and then I deleted the folder it was using I didnt want it it to use.

Its now back in the norton self assigned default spam folder.
