HI harry10,
There is mention of both Safe web and safe search in the Norton Menu. Please see below:
There is Enable Norton Safe Web and Disable Norton Safe Search. Do you see the same thing?
Best wishes.

HI harry10
Can you open IE. Go to Tools, Manage Add-ons and make sure that the Norton Toolbar is listed and that it is enabled.

Is there a way to redownload it?

HI Harry10
Open up Norton and look on the main user interface - bottom right. Browser Protection etc should all be turned on.

harry10,
Just a few comments.
.
If you are wondering about Your Manage Logins, Manage Cards and Manage Notes will only appear in the drop down if you are signed into Identity Safe. You can do that by Clicking on the Orange Lock on the Norton Toolbar and signing in using your password. They should appear once you sign in.
.
As far as Browser Protection etc, they should be on as mdturner pointed out. However Browser Protection being OFF will change your status to a RED X, while Safe Surfing being turned off will produce a Yellow Exclamation point (unless you clicked on the i and then ignore). Both correctable by Fix It, however Identity Safe & Download Intelligence being turned off will not change the Green Check Mark for status.
.
Now after saying all that, from what you are telling us, the Norton Tool Bar must have been installed. However you can double check this by in IE Click on Tools > Manage Add-Ons > select Toolbars and Extentions and then scroll down to Symantec, locate Norton Tool Bar and ensure it is Enabled.
.
If still no joy, I would suggest an uninstall/reinstall may be called for, but do not do that until some others voice their opinions. Then if the general consensus is to do that, some one will assisst you with the correct procedure to include the NRT.

Hi Harry10,
I don't recall the toolbar being an option on install but then it has been a while so I may not have noticed it before. ![]()
I don't know if this first option will work but you can try clicking on Help & Support > Get Support and walk through the support wizard and see if that resolves the missing toolbar issue.
If not, then I agree with Yank that the easiest thing is to uninstall and reinstall NIS. However, if this is the only issue that you have you probably don't need to run the Norton removal tool. Instead I would start with a conventional uninstall and reinstall from Control Panel. Make sure you select the options to leave your settings behind.
If this does not work for any reason, then we can go the Norton removal tool route afterwards.
If you use Identity Safe you should back up this data first. From the main NIS window please click on Web Settings > Identity Safe > Backup Identity Safe Data. This is just a precaution since this type of uninstall should leave this data intact.
Please download the full version of NIS 2010 from here. Please note that this is the English version so please let me know if you need a different language and I will provide the appropriate link.
As a precaution please go ahead and retrieve your NIS product key from your Norton Account.
For your protection, disconnect from the Internet before continuing. Via Control Panel go ahead and uninstall NIS, ensuring that you tell it to retain your user settings.
Then reboot your computer.
Then please install NIS 2010 from the full version downloaded earlier. Once installed please reconnect back to the Internet and run Live Update repeatedly (rebooting as requested) until it reports there are no more updates.
Hope this helps and please let us know how it goes.
Best wishes.
