Have others noticed a lot of attempts from IPs to access one's port 58545?
Seems like every few minutes there is some IP trying to access mine. Now my unused port blocking shows that this is being blocked, but still concerning. Sometimes 3 times attempted within the same minute.
Some of the IPs that are trying to access this are
211.154.136.163
178.116.226.86
but there are probably another 10-15 digfferent IPs trying this.

It shouldn't be concerning. 3 port scans per minute is NOTHING. These port scans happen 24/7, and 3 scans a minute is an extremely low number. Even if you had 1000 scans a minute, it wouldn't be anything special. You aren't personally targetted, and the random scans are repelled, as they should be.
Get a router and you won't have these scans reach your computer.

Agreed. If your computer directly accesses the internet your firewall is going to block a constant barrage of portscans. Thats what it is supposed to do and that is why you have a firewall. In order to keep portscans from reaching the PC a simple NAT router with an SPI firewall is all you need - they are inexpensive.

Agreed. A router has been recommended multiple times.

yes, I agree a router is a good thing for me to get
But my real question was is this port 58545 experiencing attempts at intrusion all over the web? I mean I did not notice this until the last day or so. Also its like all these IP addresses are focusing on that one port, at least in my log

HI Calls,
Let me second (again) what others have said. A router is very inexpensive. You can get some for as low as $40, depending on your needs and what type of wireless network you want to have it support.
Best wishes.

Several different countries over a couple of days. Portscans go on all the time. Some use different ranges of ports, different protocols, different IP ranges. It just doesn't matter as long as they are blocked. A router not only stops you from seeing it, they stop you from even being visible on the net.

No, but it doesn't matter. A bot with many IP adresses programmed to scan IP ranges (where you happen to be) on a certain port perhaps. It's not of importance or worth worrying about.

thanks all. More of a curiosity than a real worry
