Does Norton affect the "Date Accessed" timestamp associated with files?   Some program on my system (Windows XP) is updating the Date Accessed timestamp constantly, even though I am not doing anything.   As far as I know, I am not running any automatic system scans through Norton.  Any help would be appreciated.

It's a Windows XP thing having nothing to do with Norton.  If you Google "XP date accessed" you might find some workarounds posted in some of the Windows forums.
