"Dropdowndeals"/YONTOO.com has got to go!

WHAT a pain this was for several days......GO TO ADD/REMOVE programs and DUMP YONTOO. The program places an "arrow" like design with coupons over website logoffs!  I was surprised that NORTON Internet Security let this through! SOMEHOW....this program was loaded into my computer around Christmas....

Yontoo isn't malware, and it doesn't install itself. It's the user who installs it. There is no reason for Norton to block it. It can come bundled with other software - another reason to not just click "Okay" while installing something before reading the EULA.

Welcome,

The program is not harmful to any of your software or hardware. This means that Norton is doing its jub correctly. That is a REAL pain in the > > > to you is a problem which Norton cannot solve. You can remove the program.

One method would be to review all the entries in your programs and features section of the control panel and delete it. You might also try downloading, installing, updating and running the free version of Malwarebytes scanner found here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free  It is Norton compatible so you can keep it on your desktop as a second opinion scan whenever you feel the need. It looks at things differently from Norton so it can find different things that may be annoying but not necessarily dangerous.

Stay well and surf safe.
