Hi @ all,
me again. Today as I updated my programs on my PC, I got suddenly the above message. I'm using Win XP SP3 and NIS 2010 17.7.0.12, after that error was displayed, I restarted my PC and until now, I didn't got it again.
Does anybody knwo, what this was? Do I really have to reinstall NIS? Would be not very nice...but if it's the only way..
Maybe someone from Symantec has an answer?

At this moment , I think there is nothing that you should do . Just monitor it and if it repears , then reinstall the product.
At this moment , nothing speacial.
You can test if your Norton is working using this file:

To fix this problem, uninstall and reinstall your Norton product. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product.

Hi
Make sure you are able to launch the product. If it doesnt jus restart the pc and make sure the product UI comes up and all switches in the main UI are ON.
If the error does not re-appear, you dont have to re-install the product. Norton or even any application for that matter sometimes give such errors in very rare situations of resource problems or deadlocks or internal problems but they self-heal.
Thanks
