Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

Done . After restart new run of NPE didn't find any threat  .

The promising IObit link you suggested , while speaking of modified versions of a legitimate software turned to a virus , in fact simply offer the download of on old version of Advanced System Care 4 ( that I allready have ) .

Anyway I don't think the 'program' could be a startup defender activity of Advance System Care because I have noticed it and behaves differently : Declaring the name 'IOBit -something' , never interphering in NIS operation ( at least in visible way ) .

Here ( Italy ) it's very ( very ) late ... I'll stop the research for the moment and go to bed .

Thank You very much for the moment for the precious help  !

Bye

Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

Two things,  You have leftovers of System Care 4 as well as having System Care 5, let alone the fact I don't like System Care and Norton together.

Secondly if you (or others) look right at the bottom of the list in your screenshot,

Below Acrobat Reader.......... you can just see the IObit Malware Fighter  IObit listing.

Malware Figher has a Startup Guard, File Guard and Process Guard running in the background

Remove IObit from running Realtime, if not remove completely.

Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

Yes Quads you are right , I've got a little mess of 'optimizers' softwares running together ( I've got also Toolwiz for that ...! ).

The matter is that I haven't decided between AES 4 PRO and AES 5 FREE yet  !

On the question of 'IObit malware fighter' , as I wrote I recognize its work , it's different ( although analogous ) from that in exam :

the messages are different ( heading ' IObit .....'  name not  'Startup Defender ' )  the occasions are different  ( appropriate and never interphering with NIS operations for IObit  ONLY POINTED , at the moment ,  TO STOP NIS UPDATES for 'Startup Defender' ) clearly traceable to a running program the first not - at the moment - the second .

Anyway I can certainly follow your advice but the problem is that it seems to me that the program' s apparitions are getting progressively less frequent ( could it read theese posts ? ) and so can be hard evaluate the effects.

Bye.

Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

As to NPE struggling with the 2 command entries with Firefox in trying to fix and "has tried to stop NPE".

Malware Fighter has a Browser Guard, which could be fighting NPE with changing those entries.

Also Malware Fighter has a Network Guard which could also be intefering with the Norton Networking and updates.

Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

Hi

Maybe , but IObit don't message me on NIS nor NPE operation ( never ) as the other thing do ( did ? , are some 24 hours I haven't seen it  ....I'm waiting it with 'snipping tool ' open to snapshot it  ! ) . The two entries of NPE refers to two slightly different problems of Firefox ( the second I forgot to documentate ) .

For others,

What IObit states about Malware fighter and realtime components (actually found a thread where Malware Fighter and Norton together caused BSOD)

Comprehensive Real-time Protection EnhancedIObit Malware Fighter provides you with ultimate anti-malware and real-time protection, including "Startup Guard", "Browser Guard", "Network Guard", "File Guard", "Cookie Guard", "Process Guard", "USB Disk Guard" and "Malicious Action Guard", which keeps your computer stay secure all the time.

Re: "hidden program" Startup Defender , don't appear in the list of installed software

The end ( ? ) of the question .

On the 19-th of this month I treasured Quads's warnings and disintalled all : Advanced System Care 4 free & 5PRO , Tolwiz and IObit malware defender . Since then I no longer had the messages in question from ' Startup Defender ' .

Thanks      frenmm   .
