Re: redirecting virus and possible virus help

That's okay then.  Malwarebytes should not be blocking anything if you installed the free version.  If you installed the paid version or the trial for the paid version, there may well be conflicts.  It is not a good idea to run two real time scanners at the same time, as things tend to get missed.

Re: redirecting virus and possible virus help

i have the redirect virus. malwarebytes has found but cannot remove two files: hkey_classes_root\.fsharproj and hkey_local_machine\swftware\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\services

i have used norton power eraser. if found and removed one item. didn't help.it left another "suspicious" item.

i have run malwarebytes and superantispyware in safe mode. they found three things (including the two above) and a registry item, but didn't help. still redirects. i will try running norton in safe mode. it seemed it was blocking my definition updates before. that doesn't seem to be happening now. but my norton registration shot up to having another 300-plus days. I think that's not right. i didn't renew yet. i don't know if it's blocking norton and the other help programs.
