i purchased 2yrs worth of Norton Antivirus but my old laptop suffered a fatal meltdown and had to be replaced. How do I load the Norton product that I purchased on to my new laptop? I don't have the old laptop as that was kept by the shop that exchanged it for my current one.

Just log into "My Account" in the Norton site. Also most likey your product is out of date so its best to download the 2011 version.

Hello samilou
Welcome to the Norton Community Forum
Please make sure that your new laptop does not have a trial version of some security program on it. If it does, you will have to remove that other security program using the control panel method first. and then reboot. You will then have to get the removal tool from the other company and run that 2 times with a reboot after each run of it.
You can get NAV 2011 from this link.
http://www.norton.com/nav11
Please run live update until no more updates and then reboot.
I would suggest staying off the net until the program wants to update and activate. You will have to enter in your key to activate the new install.
If you get a notice that you have exceeded the number of activations, then you can contact customer support via the free chat program and explain what has happened and they can reset the activations for you.
Please let us know how you made out. Thanks.
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view.

Thanks, there is a trial version on my laptop, it's McAfee. Do i really need a removal tool from them? Only reason to ask is have been trying to contact them via their virtual support and getting nowhere. Would it work if I uninstalled it, rebooted and installed NAV?

Incase of potential conflicts, it is recommended.
The McAfee removal tool can be found here:

that worked perfectly thanks. However, have realised that I purchased Norton Internet Security, not NAV (didn't realise they were different!). Do you have a link so I can download that?
