Hi...I'm a newbie on this board, and hope someone can give me a quick hand.
I have 3 PCs, all running NIS 2010. I've been using Identity Safe for logins on all 3 of them. But since I use these machines interchangeably, the list of logins I have saved on each one differs. Is there a way to sync the logins across all 3 machines, so that they are all the same? I'm hoping there is a way to do this that gives me a "superset" of the logins on the 3 systems by not copying duplicates but keeping the unique ones.
Thanks!

Hi Darthdad47,
Welcome to Norton Community!
There is no way to sync between the Identity Profiles on different computers through network. You can only backup the Identity Safe data as a .npm file and restore that file in other computers, which is the recommended and safe way.

darth,
Welcome to the Community -- a good question (I don't yet use the Identity Safe but intended to when I switch to my new Windows 7 PC so that's an important point for me) and well worth raising. The more the merrier.
Keep an eye open for any comments from Norton Staff -- names in red -- since they are here and user comments to get attention.
I see from NIS 2010 HELP that you can "export" and "import" Identity Safe data --
When your product expires, you can export your logins, card details, and other credentials.
Norton Internet Security exports your confidential information to an unencrypted .csv (comma-separated value) format and anyone can read it. You must not use this feature to create the backup of your Identity Safe data.
and
You can restore your backed up Identity Safe data if you delete it by mistake. You can also restore your Identity Safe data if you want to transfer it to a new computer.
so at least it would seem to be possible to treat one PC as the Master PC and only add new data to it and then export its file to the other two. Not as convenient as a synchronize facility would be -- I would be surprised if that was not something that Norton would want to add.
If what the extract says is absolutely correct and the export of your identity safe data is: unencrypted .csv (comma-separated value) format then you could certainly import that into say Excel and maybe massage the three files there by combining them and eliminating duplicate entries ....
Just completely off the top of my head without having used Identity Safe but maybe Norton can say whether or not the HELP file is correct! It's in the HELP index tab under [ Identity Safe, exporting data ]

darthdad47, do you know that NIS2010 has a option for storing your Identity safe on a usb drive? this is a nice option for people like your self who are using more then one pc at a time. check it out if you like. it works really well, as soon as you plug the usb drive into the computer your using bang your logins are online on that system. also remember to back up your Identity safe to a safe place if you try this because Usb drives don't last forever. but it sure is handie...

jarry,
You don't happen to know if Identity Safe actually does export unencrypted csv files do you, as it says in HELP?

Haven't seen it mentioned, so though I would just point out that, if you back up your data to an .NPM file.
When you restore it, it only restores what you have in the NPM file.
It deletes all data at present in your Identity Safe, before loading in the NPM file.
i.e. it doesn't add the two together.
Waiting for Norton to bring out a 'Merge' option to do this, but if they do, I doubt it'll be in the 2010.
One good thing is that these NPM files are good for backing up to NIS or N360
